“Silver and Gold”, an oil painting by K.Witherspoon, features a heavily wooded grove of aspen that grows along the Gunnison River, CO.  This particular spot is off hwy. 285 between Denver and Telluride.

Further downriver was an exceptionally active and healthy beaver dam.  Tragically, within 10 years, the area was “Gentrified” and became a housing subdivision.  The beaver dams were destroyed, the beavers moved out, and the stream was re-channeled
