One of the most popular of my polo paintings, “Clash of the Centaurs” features bumping, one of the most dangerous plays on the field. A player may only “bump” another player if both of their horses are traveling at the same speed and are shoulder to shoulder. Due to both the speed and power, riders and ponies could be seriously injured if this rule is violated.
The four players on each polo team wear a number getween 1 and 4. The player wearing number 1 is the primary offensive player.
